PMS, Thyroid, Hormones
Some of the most widespread health issues we face today are due to hormone imbalance. Diabetes (insulin), anxiety, depression and chronic disease (stress hormones), thyroid issues, PMS and fertility issues, all involve the body’s endocrine (hormone) system. This is because hormones are one of our body’s primary systems of communication and adaptation.
When we are challenged by such issues, people often begin with one medication to relieve a particular symptom, let’s say PMS, and with time that medication causes another symptom, let’s say reflux, constipation or anxiety, so another medication is prescribed, and it becomes a symptomatic revolving door of one medicine to react to another and so forth.
Sometimes immediate symptom relief is very important, but there needs to be a cost-benefit analysis, and we must always do what we can to help our body function and adapt optimally. For example, many medications deplete our body of vital nutrients (such as magnesium and B vitamins) and supplementing our diet with these can make a big difference. Another example would be regular Chiropractic adjustments, to make sure your body is working at its best, communicating and adapting to stress optimally, without resorting to medication.
When we approach such problems, we look at many factors to see how we can help you regain healthy function and adaptation. This may include spinal-neural function, to reestablish effective central control and adaptation, medication stresses, life stresses, nutritional stresses and depletions, movement and exercise.
Our job is to help you regain your health from the inside, so you can heal and thrive.
If you or someone you know is dealing with hormone-related health concerns, schedule a Chiropractic assessment at ANPTH to see if we can help you.
